Barre Finance Committee reviewed budgets showing Quabbin's assessment to the town rising $624,850 and several town accounts already over budget. Quabbin Regional School District officials said their fiscal 2027 plan cuts 18 positions and draws $760,000 from reserves, with the district's overall budget up $1.9 million; one committee member separately cited a $1.1 million year-over-year school cost increase. Business Administrator Allison Pellissier was praised for finding new revenue, including a renegotiated transportation contract.
On the town side, Maureen Marshall reported IT expenses at $27,113, software at $20,283, and the Henry Woods building already at $80,000 through March after costing $116,000 in fiscal 2025. "The $5,000 clearly is not sufficient," Marshall said of the Select Board's own expense line. No votes were taken; minutes approval and a Vice Chair nomination were both pushed to April 7 for lack of quorum.
