Fall registrations and a new flag football program highlight upcoming offerings from the Barre Youth Sports Association.

BARRE -- The Barre Youth Sports Association (BYSA) is preparing for a busy fall season, with registration open now for soccer and set to open July 1 for football, including a newly announced 1st and 2nd Grade Non-Padded 7v7 Flag Football program.

YOUTH LEAGUES

BYSA's fall soccer registration is currently available through the organization's website. Fall football registration opens July 1.

New this year, BYSA is launching a Non-Padded 7v7 Flag Football program for 1st and 2nd graders. The non-contact format puts seven players per side on a smaller field and emphasizes passing, catching, running, and basic defense. Coaches hold USA Football Flag certification. Players will practice and compete twice a week; flags and shirts are provided, though players must supply their own cleats and mouthguards.

Founded in 1972 and reincorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 2006, BYSA serves more than 1,100 participants across seven sports with the help of roughly 200 volunteers.

COMMUNITY

BYSA will march in the Barre Heritage Parade on July 25 at 1:00 p.m. Participants wishing to walk with the group are asked to meet at the BOR at 12:30 p.m.
