Barre Select Board unanimously appoints new assistant town administrator

BARRE — July 26, 2018 — Barre Select Board votes unanimously to hire new assistant town administrator. The three-member board approved the appointment of a candidate identified as "Sandy" following an interview process led by Town Administrator Andrew and Library Director Stephanie Tannerholm, who called her "by far the best choice." Before the vote, board members laid out detailed expectations covering timely meeting minutes — with drafts due to the board within one week of each meeting — proactive press releases on topics such as an economic development planning grant and the town's rail trail program, and respectful handling of public inquiries. A wage authorization is set to come before the board at its August 6 meeting, with the new hire's start date planned for August 13.
